AboutRamsay MameeshOver fifteen years of corporate, start-up, and small business experience. Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, California State University - East Bay. Major Marketing and Minor Economics. After graduating from university, I spent ten years helping Bank of the West, grow from a small Bay Area bank, into a large western regional financial institution. This tremendous growth, gave me the opportunity to gain broad and valuable experience in many areas of marketing. Wearing many hats, I would be designing advertisments, organizing trade shows, negotiating contracts, and editing the corporate newsletter - all at the same time. In 1996, at the beginning of the internet revolution, I realized the impact the web would have on commerce. At the time, only two other banks in the nation had websites. Ignoring the comments of the C.E.O that, "the internet is a fad", I learned html and designed the bank's first website myself on my time. Later I would lead a large multi-state development team to re-design the corporate site and integrate online banking. I have been fascinated by the web ever since, and used my web development and marketing knowledge to launch my next endeavour. Not knowing anything about the hotel industry, nor speaking more than three words of Spanish, I decided in 2002 to start a hotel in Costa Rica. Owning a small hotel, and living on a tropical beach, had been a dream of mine since I was a teenager. What should have been a failure turned into a success, as I leveraged my web and marketing knowledge, and generated over half of hotel revenues from online reservations. What was one of the smallest hotels in Costa Rica, had one of the biggest web presences, bringing in nine thousand unique visitors a month from all over the world. Starting, owning, and managing a company in a foreign country, taught me valuable lessons applicable to any enterprise. Hard work, patience, perseverance, and doing whatever is necessary to get the job done! Along the way, I learned Spanish, and to surf. I enjoy challenges, both personal and professional, and I am always learning. I look forward to my next adventure and from hearing from you. Sincerely,
